Federation Partnerships
The Riverside Federation is currently a partnership of two schools: Etchingham CE Primary School and Bodiam CE Primary School. The schools share an Executive Headteacher and SENDCO and they are jointly governed by one Governing Board.
The rationale of the Federation is ‘better together.’ We believe that our partnership is a key driver in our pursuit of excellence so that we meet the needs and aspirations of all pupils as we work together within a culture of high expectation and continual improvement. Both schools in the Federation benefit through collaboration and sharing of best practice.
Benefits of our Federation include:
Staff Collaboration and Professional Development
Staff across both schools share expertise and development opportunities. These include coaching, training and resources to support learning. Staff plan together with outcomes reflecting the individual classes for which they are responsible.
Federation staff benefits include:
Leadership and Professional Development
Shared subject leadership across the Federation
Training within the Federation by sharing staff expertise
Leadership growth opportunities
Curriculum & Quality of Education
Validated strong curriculum
Robust Federation monitoring practice, ensuring that our curriculum offer is coherent, well-planned and delivered
Planning support systems for all staff with cohort planning groups
Excellent cross-Federation SEND practice
Relatability
Part of a group of schools who understands the benefits and pressures of small schools
Each school, whilst supported by strong Federation-wide practice, retains its own culture and unique place in its community
Relatively close geographical proximity allows staff to move flexibly between schools for professional development
Common Vision & Ethos
Our schools are all small rural schools who share a vision, rooted in the Church of England vision for education, for the common good of all our school communities.
Pupil Events
Pupils come together and enjoy collaborating and co-operating together in learning opportunities which always have an element of peer challenge and stimulus. Most visits which enhance our exciting and relevant curriculum take place as joint ventures across peer classes / key stages.
Bodiam C E School visits Etchingham C E School every summer to perform their annual summer production.
